TEENAGE star Joe Lovell grabbed another brace to help deliver the perfect start to the new year for Saxons.
The 16-year-old rookie was again in the right place at the right time to convert his chances in this tough Sussex Division Five clash.
The visitors took the lead carving through the Saxons defence with ease on five minutes.
But substitute Tom Waters delivered a smart ball into the D on 18 minutes which Lovell sent crashing into the goal for a deserved equaliser.
Minutes later Lovell made it 2-1 pouncing on a loose ball after a short corner to record his eighth of the season.
St Francis flew out the starting blocks after the restart and equalised on 39 minutes.
And the width of a goal post prevented them taking the lead on 47 minutes.
Sol Buckner's men rallied in the rain and pushed for a winner.
And 16-year-old Tom Giles delivered the goods on the hour tapping in Ollie Beal's defence-splitting pass.
Buckner said: "The youngsters were fantastic and made the difference. The two Toms, Ollie and Joe all earned their stripes with their never-say-die attitude. A great team performance against very difficult opposition."
Saxons travel to Burgess Hill on Saturday to face St Francis for a 3pm push back.
