Four goals down within the opening 15 minutes, the game was effectively over before half time.
A spirited second half performance saw Saxons robbed of a penalty opportunity after Joe Lovell's goal bound shot was stopped by a wayward knee.
Skipper Sol Buckner went closest with a fierce turn and shot on the hour which screamed just wide.
Teenage sensation Ben Bosden earned man-of-the-match with a display far beyond his 14 years stopping half a dozen stinging shots from the hosts.
Buckner said: "I don't know why teams like EG play in Division Five. It's no good for them and no good for us. If it hadn't been for Ben pulling off some phenomenal saves we could have been thrashed 10 or 12 nil. So who on earth wants to make an 80 mile round trip to get hammered and know we haven't a chance? That's not what hockey's about. We're a decent team, a good bunch of lads. We showed our true grit last week by beating Eastbourne. But we're in a tough season as Southwick, Penguin, Crowborough and East Grinstead are very strong this year. That East Grinstead team would've been a handful for Paddy's team."
Saxons welcome Horsham to Horntye Park tomorrow with a 10.30pm push back.
