Centre back Daryl Tulk was forced to leave the pitch early in the second half after injuring his left wrist.
His replacement Jonathan Lowe was then forced into defence despite a broken finger.
Saxons got off to a flyer when Olli Beal laid the ball off to Paul Merison who lifted it over the keeper during their first attack on five minutes.
But minutes later the umpire awarded the hosts a penalty after a goal-bound shot struck Lowe's body.
Undeterred, Saxons pressed for a second and were rewarded when Lowe fired in from 10 yards after a well
executed short corner routine.
Saxons left the field at half time 2-1 with a good opportunity for three points. But the wheels came off in the second half when injured Tulk left the pitch and Lowe broke a finger.
Eastbourne grabbed a second on 52 minutes after a striker slipped through the D and then two more as Saxons
capitulated in the last 10 minutes.
