Sol Buckner's side put in their best display of the season to come away with the points at a fifth time of asking in Sussex Open Hockey Division Five.
Teenage talent Tom Waters almost opened the scoring in the first minute when his reflex shot was just tipped around the post.
Saxons grabbed tho opener on 15 minutes when Dom Whittaker danced past two defenders before slotting beyond the advancing keeper.
But the lead only lasted five minutes as the hosts equalised during a quick break. Saxons rallied again, but failed to convert a series of short corners before half time.
In the second half, Saxons came out all guns blazing and piled on the pressure. Merison was unlucky on 52 minutes when an umpire disallowed his well taken shot.
Southwicks keeper pulled of a string of fine saves, but the pressure deservedly paid off when Buckner fired in a cross which Paul Merison swept coolly past the keeper.
Man of the match was Jonathan Lowe.
