In Spring-like conditions at Horntye Park, Sol Buckner's side went straight onto the offensive in an action-packed Sussex Division Four fixture.
And it was the skipper who opened the scoring firing home a loose ball in the 10th minute for his 17th strike of the season.
Minutes later Buckner hobbled off with a foot injury to join fellow striker Joe Woodford on the sideline after also picked up an injury.
Down to 10 players, Saxons held firm until Buckner returned as a makeshift winger.
Then Peter Klein finished off a great one-two pass with Jeremy Bunday to make it 2-0 in the 20th minute.
In the second half Saxons continued to dominate and Rob Whitehouse smashed in a short corner in the 40th minute to make it 3-0.
Lloyd Williams crashed the ball home from close range after another quick Saxons break in the 47th minute.
Whitehouse grabbed the fifth finishing off a fine move on the hour involving Julian Hooton, Bunday and man-of-the-match Williams.
Skipper Buckner said: "I couldn't ask for more. We were down to nine players at one point and we still kept our shape and looked very strong. Fair play to Brighton as they kept going and never gave up.
"It's been a very enjoyable season and we've played some really good hockey along the way."
Saxons welcome Eastbourne V to Horntye Park tomorrow for a 10.30am push-back, the last home game of the season.
