The hosts dominated this Sussex Hockey Division Four game from the start and went 2-0 inside the first 10 minutes.
But Saxons worked their way back when Brock Smith smashed home a short corner shot on 21" in his first game for the side.
However Crawley snatched a third goal following a short corner on the stroke of half time.
Saxons stormed out the blocks for the second half and pressed hard for goals.
And it was the high-flying Aussie hitman Lochi Whitehead who latched on to a deep cross within minutes of the re-start.
Minutes later Whitehead found the next again smashing home a high ball from close range to level the score at 3-3.
Saxons were in the ascendancy and poured forward in wave upon wave of attacks.
Persistence paid off on the hour when Smith rifled home a second to secure the points and another memorable away day in West Sussex.
Saxons welcome Eastbourne Eaglets to Horntye Park this coming Saturday for a 3pm push back.
