Saxons moved up to second place in the league with this one sided victory. Report by Rob Whitehouse

With the luxury of a full squad available, coach Rob Whitehouse was able to return to the dugout and manage the side.

Under orders for a fast start, Saxons executed the game plan to perfection, attacking with speed, possession and width, tearing the away defense to pieces and creating lots of half chances.

Then a wonderful passing move which started from the back with almost the whole touching the ball before Julian Buss fired home. A perfect slip pass from Man of the match Captain Phil Carrington found Buss who continued his impressive scoring run with a simple finish.

A mazy run from youngster Bailey Wright saw his shot smash against the crossbar, allowing Harry Dyas to convert the rebound with the goal still rocking!

Another Carrington pass found the experienced Jo Woodford, who Cooly slotted home.

Wright got on the scoresheet with a powerful finish high into the net.

More of the same was requested by Whitehouse and the home side duly obliged, a quick passing move involving the impressive Wright and Carrington enabled Buss to complete his second hat trick of the season.

A lapse in concentration and unwillingness to put in a tackle saw Eastbourne pull a goal back, this fired Saxons up and hit back straight away when Dyas found Woodford who expertly fired home.

By now the home crowd were in full voice ready for the Christmas do in the evening and their vocal support was rewarded with further goals from Wright, and Dyas.

Whitehouse commented after the game “ the team followed the game plan to perfection and have been fantastic during the first half of the season, having been promoted last year, to be second at this stage is very impressive”
