Saxons Men's 4's continued their excellent start to the season with a one sided win against Southwick. Match Report by Rob Whitehouse.

The home side charged out of the blocks and created chance after chance but the away keeper was in stunning form, keeping out efforts from Coach Rob Whitehouse, Julian Buss, Paul Merison and Dom Whitaker.

With Captain Phil Carrington, Matt Rigby and Les Cornish mopping up away Southwick attacks, the home side stole the ball, Merison found Buss whose pass released Whitehouse, he skipped past two defenders before playing a perfect one two with Man of the match Jo and slotting into an empty goal.

The half time talk was about concentration and an early goal, Saxons again came out firing and Ben Kemsley found Woodford who made no mistake with an angled strike. Saxons pushed for more and a Buss pass saw Woodford deflect home.

Whitehouse added a second with a no look reverse stick deflection past a bemused keeper, he then completed his hat trick with a short corner strike which sneak under the keeper.

More home pressure saw them string some lovely passing moves together as the away side struggled to cope. A Merison through ball was expertly dummied by Whitehouse to leave Woodford a simple deflection into the corner to complete his hat trick.

A strike from Merison finished the scoring for the home side and not even a lucky Southwick goal could dampen the afternoon.
