Man of the match Julian Buss and team captain Phil Carrington bossed the game from the off. Chichester began to feel the pressure with goal scoring chances falling to Whitehouse, Jo Woodford and Paul Merison but the home keeper kept them out.
A short corner save fell to youngster Harry Dyas who swept home from close range.
Minutes later a Merison thunderbolt was stopped on the line by a defenders body. Woodford stepped up for the resulting penalty flick only to see his shot clatter against the post.
More of the same attacking vigour was requested at half time and Saxons duly obliged.
Chichester came back at Saxons from the outset. Makeshift Saxons keeper, Dan Bontoft, looked at home between the posts and dealt calmly with a number of well taken shots.
Saxons maintained their composure and a couple of switches of their wingers unsteadied Chichester. Moments later a Merison through ball found Whitehouse who's first time shot from the top of the 'D' rocketed into the top corner.
Saxons finished the game as they started..on top!
The win moves recently promoted Saxons 4's up into 3rd place in Sussex Open Division 4.
