Ed Chapman's men stretched their unbeaten run in Sussex Open Hockey Division Three to eight games but struggled against bottom placed Worthing.
And it was the visitors who had the better of the first half missing several chances on the break to take a deserved lead.
Saxons stormed out the blocks in the second half and finally took the lead in the 50th minute when Tom Waters delivered a perfect cross for Seb Wright to sweep home from eight yards out.
Minutes later Waters buried a perfect cross from Michael Whitmore to relieve the pressure.
The visitors then hit back in the 58th minute through a short corner.
But Saxons kept their composure and Whitmore grabbed the third goal minutes later with a superb turn and shot from close range after collecting James McIntyre's pin point cross.
Saxons take a well earned break from action until January 16 when they welcome Mid Sussex III to Horntye Park for a 1.30pm push back.
