South saxons 1st mens team unfortunately lost 5-0 to brighton on saturday! South saxons started the game well with some good passing moves and managed to keep possesion of the ball well creating a few chances! However an unfortunate first goal by brighton was followed quickly by a second from a penalty flick. This left saxons facing a big up hill battle as they need as many points as possible in the relegation battle they find themselves in. The second half started brightly with saxons coming close creating a few more chances but were not able to prevent brighton from getting a third goal! This goal saw saxons sit back and be more relaxed on the ball, where they began to play some even better hockey while enjoying the game in the sunny weather. However, brighton were able to extend their lead and push on to win the game 5-0. saxons were able to play some of their best hockey in this game with a strong link up play between the midfield players with captain paddy cornish at the centre! This was backed up by a strong defence, but unfortunately, the lack of goals from saxons meant that brighton won the game 5-0!
