However, they quickly responded by grabbing an early breakaway attack resulting in a penalty corner Acott's assist was deflected neatly past the keeper by Busbridge. The visitors responded with a goal of their own from a Penalty corner drag flicked into the bottom left of the goal.
This didn’t deter the home side who again took the lead after a neatly deflected pass by Busbridge found Beale who finished with style.
Sutton Valence responded with another attack and levelled the score at 2-2 going into the break.
After the half time break the game continued at a frantic pace which required good hold up play from Meredith to keep possession.
Unfortunately though the visitors scored a further two goals
Towards the end of the game Saxons broke through the visitors defence with Beal grabbing himself a further two goals one of which was a reverse stick hit scored from an almost impossible angle.
The game was settled though after a slap hit from outside the D, during a short corner, was allowed to stand by the umpire. Man of the match was Gavin Cload for his good defensive work including a goal line clearance after the keeper was already beaten. Final score Saxons 4 Sutton Valance 5.
