A commanding and hugely respected goalkeeper, Mike originally joined Saxons as the Men’s 1st XI goalkeeper after making the move from Epsom Hockey Club. Since then, he has become a familiar and valued figure across the club, representing the men’s section with distinction over a number of seasons.

As well as his contributions in league hockey, Mike has also been a regular part of the club’s veterans tours to Le Touquet and a key presence in South Saxons’ mixed summer hockey sides, bringing experience, composure and no shortage of trademark saves wherever he plays.

His latest call-up to the South East Masters setup is richly deserved recognition of both his ability and his long-standing contribution to hockey at the club.

Everyone at South Saxons would like to congratulate Mike on his selection and wish him every success at this weekend’s regional tournament. We’ll all be cheering on “The Cat” from the sidelines!
