Pre-Season finishes as Saxons start their league campaigns.

Home Fixtures 13/9/2025

South Saxons Mens 3’s v Worthing Mens 5’s (Martlets Division 3) - Our Mens 3’s got off to a good season start against Worthing and were a convincing 3-0 up at half time. The second half was less convincing and Saxons almost threw the game away after Worthing scored 2 break away goals. Despite this, Saxons finished 3-2 winners and took their first 3 points of the season. Player of the match was Pete Watters.

South Saxons Women’s 1’s v Hailsham Women’s 1’s (Friendly) - Our Women’s 1’s played their friendly training game against Hailsham 1’s and were held at 1-1 at half time. Hailsham came back into it in the second half and the game finished 1-4 to Hailsham. The team welcomed Page Dunford who fitted naturally into the team and did a stellar job in defence. Player of the match was Kat Jenner.

South Saxons Men’s 4s v Horsham Men’s 5’s (Martlets Division 4) - Our Mens 4th XI, captained this year by Garry Cooper got off to a convincing start finishing 6-2 winners. Grabbing their first 3 points of the season and giving our spectators a lesson on how to pass the ball. Player of the match was youngster Freddie Gurney who also scored on his debut.

Away Fixtures 10/9/2025

Eastbourne Men’s 1’s v South Saxons Men’s 1’s (Friendly) - Our Men visited Eastbourne for a pre season friendly. The game was well contested with Eastbourne emerging 4-3 winners.

Away Fixtures 13/9/2025

East Grinstead Men’s 5’s v South Saxons Men’s 5’s (Martlets Division 4) - Our 5th XI faced a tough baptism of the season against a youthful East Grinstead side. Despite conceding an 11-0 loss spirits remained high.

Sevenoaks v South Saxons Women’s 2’s (Friendly)
- Our Women’s 2’s also faced a challenging opposition in their friendly against super club Sevenoaks. Despite their 10-0 loss the objective of a pre-season training game was achieved. Player of the match was S. Biddle.
