Congratulations to the Saxons Placeholders, who were crowned champions of the Eastbourne Hockey Club Saffrons 6’s Tournament after an impressive 3-1 victory over Crowborough in the final.
The annual tournament once again delivered a fantastic day of hockey, bringing together clubs from across the region in support of a truly worthwhile cause. Organised by Eastbourne Hockey Club, the event raises valuable funds and awareness for the meningitis charity, making every goal, save and victory part of something much bigger than the competition itself.
The Placeholders produced some excellent hockey throughout the day, combining teamwork, determination and skill to reach the final before overcoming a strong Crowborough side to lift the trophy. Their success was a fitting reward for a tremendous team effort and provided a proud moment for everyone connected with Saxons.
The tournament wasn’t just about silverware, however. All of the Saxons teams who entered enjoyed a brilliant day of hockey, friendship and club spirit. The Saffrons 6’s has become a firm favourite on the calendar, offering competitive matches, plenty of laughs and the chance for players of all ages and abilities to come together in support of a great cause.
A huge thank you must go to Eastbourne Hockey Club and all the volunteers who helped organise another outstanding event. Their hard work ensures the tournament continues to make a meaningful contribution to the fight against meningitis while providing a memorable experience for everyone involved.
Well done once again to the Placeholders on bringing the trophy home to Saxons. We are already looking forward to returning next year, supporting this excellent charity fundraiser and enjoying another fantastic day of hockey at Saffrons.
