This Week’s Results:

• Men’s 1s – A 5-0 walkover against Middleton M1s extends their lead at the top of the table to 49 points.
• Men’s 2s – A solid 4-1 victory over Horsham M3s with goals from Lucas Patel (x2), Elliot Noble, and Captain Jamie Busbridge.
• Men’s 3s – A hard-fought 3-3 draw against Worthing M3s, with goals from Paul Mason, Orlando Soucek, and Oli Cornelius.
• Men’s 4s – A tough 3-0 loss to Brighton & Hove M7s.
• Men’s 5s – A challenging game against a strong opposition ended in a 10-0 loss, but the team fielded several new players, including debutants Dan Benson, Joe Saubolle, and Adam Smith. Welcome to the club!
• Ladies’ 1s – A dominant 7-1 win against Hailsham L2s, with goals from Jemima Beal, Freya Deaves, and Morwenna Dunstan among others.
• Ladies’ 2s – A fantastic 4-1 victory over Crowborough L2s, featuring a hat-trick from Abi Holt and a goal from Pia Tucker.
• The Arrows – Another commanding 5-0 win against Crowborough.

League Promotion Opportunities

Both the Ladies’ 1s and Men’s 1s are in pole position in their respective leagues and are closing in on promotion!

Ladies’ 1s: Currently top of the table with three games to go, they hold a narrow three-point lead over Lewes L2s and East Grinstead L3s. Their final match of the season on April 5th against second-place Lewes L2s could prove decisive. Every point counts, so let’s get behind them as they push for the title!

Men’s 1s: With three matches left, they lead the league by seven points ahead of East Grinstead M3s. If they win two of their remaining fixtures, they will secure the title with games to spare. However, next weekend’s showdown against East Grinstead M3s could seal the deal early— a win here would guarantee them the league title. It’s set to be a crucial fixture and one to watch!

End of Season Dinner & Awards Night

South Saxons End of Season Dinner & Awards Night is coming up in just over a month’s time!

It is taking place on Saturday, 26th April 2025 at Claverton Country House Hotel & Restaurant and is a chance to celebrate all the hard work this season, recognise achievements, and enjoy a great night with teammates.

Don’t forget to secure your place! Tickets are £40 per person and payment must be made through the South Saxons website.

Half Marathon Weekend – Sponsor one of our own

This weekend Julian Buss, our hockey stalwart rebuilt with titanium will be running the 40th Hastings Half Marathon and raising money for the Sepsis Research Feat Charity. Please click on the link below to read about why he has chosen to run for this worthy cause, and of course please sponsor him.
