UMass have a strong history of hockey success and have produced a number of world class players in recent years across Europe and America.
About Saxons Green said ‘I started my hockey journey back at South Saxons hockey club in 2012 where I joined the junior section of the club. The Sunday morning sessions quickly became the highlight of my weekend and where my love for the game started - at a young age, the emphasis was on having fun, making friends and learning through this, which played a huge part in my development.'
'I quickly progressed into the ladies section of the club, moving into the 2nd and 1st XI, which was a scary prospect due to most of the players being a lot older than me, however they were all so accommodating and I quickly became part of the Saxons family. The friendly, family atmosphere of the club is very special and one that is hard to come by. My family have been part of the club for a number of years, with my brother starting in the junior section and working his way through the mens teams, along with my mum who has previously coached and played. As my brother heads off to university this year, we hope that we will reunite back at South Saxons in the coming years!'
' I have many fond memories of my time at the club and am extremely thankful for all my coaches and teammates who supported me along the way.’
The Saxon’s family wish Amelie continued success in her studies and hockey pursuits.
