Report by Sol Buckner. Another blistering start by Saxons saw them sweep aside their Sussex Hockey Division Two opponents in a first half goal-fest.
Dom Whitaker started the ball rolling in the third minute when he tricked his way past two defenders before neatly slotting home from close range.He then fed teenager Sam Webster in the D who calmly slotted home the second minutes later.
Webster turned provider for Sol Buckner in the 11th minute who raced into the D and slipped the ball past the oncoming keeper.
And Buckner grabbed a second in the 18th minute from close range to put the hosts in a commanding position.
Lewes pulled a goal back before half time to give themselves a glimmer of hope.
And when they scored a second soon after the restart Saxons knew they had to rally quickly.
Webster duly obliged with a second before Ben Simmons fired in Jamie Sheldon's pinpoint cross to complete the scoring.
Saxons travel to third placed East Grinstead this Saturday for the final away fixture of the season. Push back is 1.30pm.
